How to change my last name after 2 years of marriage?

I kept my maiden name when I got married. So on my marriage license %26quot;last name after marriage%26quot; is my maiden name. Now, I've been married for 2 years and I want to change my last name. I want to either hyphenate or drop my last name and take my hubby's last name.



I've called city hall and asked about it, but all they tell me is that I need to go through the courthouse and file a legal name change. Is there a simple way of doing this?
