How do change a file to a gcf?

I downloaded gcfscape and i accidently changed file to use to GCFlink grabber,and i cant find a .GCF program to change it in name i did .gcf but it stays the same can someone help me?How do change a file to a gcf?Well, I highly doubt just renaming the extension changes the type of file it is. A gcf will be a gcf regardless of whether you rename the extension. If you change it to a .txt extension. Windows will probably think it's a text file and attempt to open it with notepad (or whatever text editor you use).



So, I arrive at the conclusion that the gcf you have is corrupt. If you have a valid account then this shouldn't be a problem. Just download a new gcf from steam's servers or extract one from the legal disc of purchase.



But then again, GCFLinkGrabber isn't widely used for legal purposes...
