How to change name in US Marines?

I'm a dependant of a Marine(active duty),and I got my name changed leggally(for personal reason). Now my SSN,driver's lisence are all under my new name.Just I really have no idea on how to change name in military, some ppl say we can do it on online by oursleves but I cant find that option. Now I'm concerned about my health insurance and GI-bill benifits.

If anyone can tell me where to file the name change in military,I'll appreciate it a lot.How to change name in US Marines?I think the best thing for you to do is to ask your Marine sponsor. He then will ask his admin Marines and they will give him the correct paperwork for you or they will guide him in the correct direction.

Dont you have a military ID card? Well whoever gave you that ID card is the best person to help you.How to change name in US Marines?Your spouse (the service member) will have to go to the DEERS office and change it there. You will have to get a new ID card. Be prepared to show proof of the change (court order), new SS card, drivers license and birth certificate if they changed it there too.

BTW at this time as a dependents don't get GI Bill benefits unless it's a surviving spouse or child.

Edited to add here is a link to DEERS website: http://www.tricare.mil/deers/update-info The only thing you can change there is your address. Births, adoptions, marriages and that sort of thing all have to be done in person at the DEERS/ID section office because documentation is required to make those changes and you can't submit that stuff online. There is an 800 number on the website that I posted, call it, explain the situation and also explain that the local ID office won't make the change and are saying to do it online. If nothing else they maybe able to call them and get it fixed where they understand that you can't do it yourself. How to change name in US Marines?Take what ever documentation you have to the nearest DEERS or ID Card Facility.

You will need whatever documentation you initially used to change your name. . .court order, marriage certificate, whatever you have.

I think the change in the GI BIll goes into effect Aug 2009 but you are smart to cover your bases now.
