Footer in Word that gives the name of the file (Word 2007)?

How can I put a footer into a Word document that gives the name of the file? I know I could type the name into the footer, but I want to know how to do it so that Word puts in the name of the file - that way if I change the name of the file, the footer automatically changes.Footer in Word that gives the name of the file (Word 2007)?Do this:

1. Double-click in the footer and position the cursor where you want the filename to go.

2. Click the Insert tab on the Ribbon.

3. Click the Quick Parts button, then the Fields... menu item.

4. In the Field Names listbox, find and select Filename.

5. Note the options for the field, in particular, the checkbox for Add path to filename. This can be useful or a nuisance, depending on your taste and the situation.

6. Click OK.

Note that you may have to update this field with an F9 keystroke if the filename or path changes.

Hope that helps.Footer in Word that gives the name of the file (Word 2007)?The site will show you step-by-step and with pictures.
