I made a movie on Windows Movie Maker, and have been trying to play it on Windows Media Player. The video I made has the file name, .MSWMM. Which is not supported on most video players and uploaders. How can I use Java to change an invalid file name to a valid file name?
I have some files that are picked up by an interface that contains single quotes in the file name: example My_'filestuff'_craz.txt
Not all files coming in have single quotes in them and it is unpredictable when a file with single quotes will be sent to the interface.
I need to remove the single quotes before the file can be journaled.

File name changes when downloading a file?
I use a MAC and SAFARI. Just recently when I download a file the original name changes to securedownload-2 (etc) which is very confusing. How can I change the name of a documents and settings file ?
My laptop has returned from being repaired with a file in Documents and Settings named with the vendor's name - I bought it new and until it needed repairing this file bore my name. XP will not allow me to change the name. It is not absolutely vital to mankind for the name to be changed - it's just annoying and I would appreciate advice to solve the problem.

Log back in with the new ID
Go into the Documents and Setting directory
Open a window where you can see the old ID

Copy whatever you want from the old id to the new one
At this point you can delete the unwanted old ID, but you might want to wait a week or so to be sure you everything first

Shut down the computer
Log back in with the new ID
Go into the Documents and Setting directory
Open a window where you can see the old ID
Open a window where you can see the new ID
Copy whatever you want from the old id to the new one
At this point you can delete the unwanted old ID, but you might want to wait a week or so to be sure you everything first
