I was working on a project in Photoshop and, like an idiot, i put an abbreviation using a period in the name when i saved it. The only way I know how to change the format is by changing the name and adding %26quot;.jpg%26quot; for example. When i tried this, it only changed the name of the file and didn't help. Is there any other way?How can I change the file extension? In order to change a file extension (assuming windows) you will need be able to see the file extensions first. You can accomplish this by opening your Windows Explorer , clicking Tools, Folder Options, View Tab , and uncheck Hide file extensions for known file types.
Now you can change the actual file extension. How can I change the file extension?Go to your control pannel then up on top click tools then click view. uncheck the box that says Hide extensions for unknow file types, press ok. Go to the file you cant open and rename it so it only has (one) .jgp in it should workHow can I change the file extension?Right click on the file and try opening it up with paint!!!
Then once u're in paint (windows program), go to the toolbar, click on file and go %26quot;Save as%26quot;!!
when the window appears, change the extension!
