How do I edit a read-only file. I want to add info and change names of files. They are photographs.?

Dependent upon the file format, it that is a photo copy file, you will not be able to change the contents inside the file. If that is text file, you can save a copy on your hard drive with the name you like, change the properties to read/write. You will ten be able to edit the file.How do I edit a read-only file.
