How to quickly change file name?

How can you change the file name when many files have the same name and you want to move them all into 1 folder without renaming each one individually? How to quickly change file name? The best way is to download a mass file renamer program--there's a ton of free ones available.

Just do a Google search for d-file or FreeFile--those work pretty good. Or search for 'mass file rename'.

There's a way that you can do a mass re-name with windows, but it sucks. You open the folder-up on the toolbar select Edit/select all. Then open File/rename and then it will allow you to re-name the very first file so re-name it what you want (example--dogs) then hit Enter and now all the rest of the files will be renamed Dogs1, Dogs2, Dogs3--like that. How to quickly change file name?xp should rename them itself.. if the original filename was %26quot;filename.fil%26quot; they will move as filename1.fil filename2.fil and so on. Test it by copying them not moving them if it works like I said just delete the old files. How to quickly change file name?As far as I know you got to change them individually - they have to be different - which is to say you could have Bob, Boba, Bobb, Bobc. Otherwise, the computer doesn't know which Bob is which.
