File name changes when downloading a file?

I use a MAC and SAFARI. Just recently when I download a file the original name changes to securedownload-2 (etc) which is very confusing. How can I keep the orignal file name attached to the download.File name changes when downloading a file? This is an issue with Yahoo, and Yahoo must somehow resolve this issue. It seems to relate to Safari and Yahoo web mail based attachments. Until Yahoo fixes this, the only workaround is to use another web browser, it appears that Firefox and Netscape name the downloaded attachments correctly in both of these other web browsers. This does not appear to happen with other email providers, just Yahoo.

It is possible that Yahoo made changes with their beta system that caused this problem.

It does not appear to be a problem from Apple since this has been reported to happen with all recent versions of the Apple OSX operating system. You can open the downloads using the program that they were created in or rename them by adding an extension such as .doc or .pdf, etc but this is annoying to say the least.

One person with this problem suggested that if everyone calls or emails yahoo %26quot;feature-request@cc.yahoo-inc.... perhaps they'll get enough feedback to make the fixes. Let's hope so!
