How can i find what computer name changed or renamed an access database file in windows?

I have a database on a shared drive. Someone is creating a backup and renaming the file. I can tell when the renamed file was created but i haven't found a way to tell who created or renamed the file or what computer they were on when it happened. Any suggestions??How can i find what computer name changed or renamed an access database file in windows?Check the system log and event log and check for user / remote user authentication lines. Time stamps may help you.How can i find what computer name changed or renamed an access database file in windows?I don't know that there is any easy way to do this. The same issue came up at a place I used to work, and it was suggested that we get in touch with someone in network operations to help us %26quot;sniff%26quot; out the culprits.

Unfortunately, this is a common problem with Access, and a tough one to resolve. One suggestion might be to keep the actual data in a secured database that only certain people can access (on a secured drive or something) and give other users only front end access.

I am going to star this question, because I too am curious to see what others say - this has always been a pain in the booty!
