How to change the name of all files in a folder?

hey guys, i am trying to make a slideshow in movie maker, i had two folders of pictures and i put them together, when i upload them in movie maker it puts them in alphabetical order, so everything is mixed up again. is there any way to change the name of all the files in the folder at once instead of one by one or any other way to fix this??

thanksHow to change the name of all files in a folder?1. Open Explorer.

2. In Explorer select all the files you wish to rename. Additional information about how to select multiple files can also be found on document CH000771.

3. Once the files have been selected press F2 and type the new name for the files. For example, typing %26quot;test%26quot; will rename the files to test, test(1), test(2), test(3) etc. If you have file extensions shown make sure to also type the name of the file extension you're renaming. How to change the name of all files in a folder?First copy the folder with the pictures in it to your desktop. That way if anything goes wrong you will still have the original pictures and file names.

Open the new folder then press Crtl+A to highlight all of the pictures. Right click then choose rename. Simply type a new file name (don't change the extension) for the first picture and press enter. The other pictures will automatically rename themselves in sequential order. How to change the name of all files in a folder?Batch Renaming software will help you to do this. There are many different programs which can be found free of charge which will do this for you; I've never used any of the free ones, but I did a quick search and found the following, which may be useful to you:
