How to change a music file so it is supported by my phone?

only some of the music i put on my phone works, it has a file name of 03 Ocean Avenue.m4a which is from itunes and the phones that dont work have a file name of 01 Shake It.m4p the only difference i see it a p instead of an a but when i tried renaming it to an a it doesnt work any more. any help appreciatedHow to change a music file so it is supported by my phone?Music from iTunes is DRM encrypted.
